Sophie Fraser, Communications & Marketing Manager at Scotland Food and Drink, talks about Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight
Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight is a celebration of Scotland’s fantastic larder, and what makes our country a Land of Food and Drink. Managed by Scotland Food & Drink since 2009, the Fortnight encourages chefs and retailers to source and champion fresh, seasonal Scottish produce. It also aims to engage consumers with their local food scene by promoting a huge variety of events on the Fortnight website.
This year, the Fortnight has the theme of ‘Food Adventurers’ and we’re encouraging people to try something new and exciting involving Scottish produce. This could be anything from dining out at a restaurant which is hosting a special, locally sourced Fortnight menu, to brewing their own craft beer.
The Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight takes place from 6th to 21st September and more than 200 events are expected to take place over the fourteen days. More information on the celebration and a full events listing are available at our website.
