Avoiding food waste is a big issue for us all. Every year we throw away 380,000 tonnes of food and drink which could have been avoided, costing the Scottish public £1billion every year. Recycling it is something that can actually be quite easy. By adopting cleaner and greener lifestyle habits you can reduce your impact on the environment.
Our blogger ambassador for the climate change campaign, Forever Yours Betty has been working over the past few months to get on top of her food waste and has come up with some top tips for avoiding it which she would love to share with you all.
Top tips include:
- Shopping smarter
- Understanding sell-by dates
- Storing ingredients and leftovers better
- Using all of your food items
