Funding for electric vehicles

Cars at a charging point

If you live in Scotland or own a business here, find out if you’re eligible for an interest-free Low Carbon Transport Loan, which includes loans to help you purchase a zero emission vehicle or taxi.

You could also be eligible for grant funding to help you install a charge point.

Charge point funding

If you live in a rural or remote location in Scotland, or bought your car through the used electric vehicle loan, you could get funding of up to £300 to help install a charge point, providing you have a driveway.

It’s convenient to have a charge point at home, and it means you can charge your car overnight when electricity is cheapest, so you’ll be saving money in your sleep.

Go to the Energy Saving Trust website for more information on eligibility for charge point funding.

Business Funding

Similarly, if you have a small or medium sized business in a rural area of Scotland, or if your business is a third sector organisation, there’s grant funding available to help you install charge points for your staff and visitors.

Grant funding is also available for factored developments and property factors and other organisations that manage communal parking for residential properties.

To apply for a loan to install a charge point for your business, contact Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282 or visit their website.
